Churches and Monasteries
One of the most interesting places to visit in the region is in Dobursko - the church “St. st. Teodosii Tiron and Teodor Stratilat” built back in 1614. Famous for the icon “Jesus Christ in a rocket”, the church visit can not go without the folklore group of Doburski Babi. These enthusiastic and energetic women, aged 50-75, welcome the visitors into the church yard according to the old Bulgarian tradition with zdravec, bread and salt. The Doburski babi present local songs and rituals dressed in traditional Bulgarian costumes. We could organize, for your family, group of friends or corporate event, a visit to the old church and a folklore demonstration by the famous Dobarski Babi.

The Church of Virgin Mary in the town of Bansko is famous for its iconostasis. It is one of the finest examples of old church woodcarving with motifs taken from the plant world.

The most impressive church in construction and size is the Church of Holy Trinity. It was built in 1853 and the big icons inside are remarkable.
